FROSTED Crystal Singing Bowls:

Scott has a full set of each musical note that align with the 7 chakras.

Crystal bowls have become a vehicle of enormous potential for those working with sound in both ancient and new healing techniques. Coupling awareness and intent in their use can demonstrably increase their effectiveness.  By simply listening to the rich, pure, vibrant tone of a bowl, most sound recipients find a deeply relaxing, rejuvenated, even stirring of deep emotions and states of well being.  By utilizing awareness techniques, Scott guides the recipient into states of clarity, balancing of chakra centers, and much more.  Scott will transport the recipient into deep meditative states, even shamanic journeys into other dimensional states, or, realms of wisdom and understanding. We find them to be an extraordinary tool for simply bathing the client in rich sounds, which generate deep feeling states of wellness and relaxation. This can lead the body into a place of homeostasis, which assists the body in self-generative healing. From this place of relaxation or restoration, Scott can easily guide a student into meditative started to explore deeper aspects of emotional release and resolution, or journeying into the inner dimensional awareness of one’s greater being. Just breathing the feeling states that arise, from simple use of the bowl, one can easily access clarity, release, deep feeling states of spaciousness or coherence, which bring essential wellness.

KIRTAN, Yoga Music:

Unlike more traditional mindfulness or meditation practices where the objective is to clear your thoughts and quite your mind, Kirtan is an active form of meditation that involves chanting or mantras that many find easier to do because it doesn’t require intense focus. If you’ve taken a yoga class and said the word “OM” ... you have experience Kirtan in its simplest form.  Kirtan is essentially the rhythmic repetition of words, phrases, or syllables. Because it occupies your mind to chant or sing the sounds, it stops your normal train of thought and clears your mind. Scott encourages the crowd to participate, even if it is just finger-tapping to engage more of your senses. This music enhances the rhythmic pattern and creates a deeper meditative experience.

In a group setting, this can also be called call-and-response. Scott mixes the traditional mantras of ancient Indian language of Sanskrit with Western yoga music. Kirtan has been around for thousands of years, modern research has found that it doing 12 minutes a day for 12 weeks altered plasma blood levels involved in cellular aging which were associated with improvements of cognitive function, sleep, mood and quality of life. Studies found that Kirtan shows significant increased cerebral blood flow in several areas.  Studies have shown their performance on neuropsychological testing showed improved visuospatial memory, increased connectivity, improved verbal memory, reduced symptoms of depression and improved chronic pain.

From and emotional perspective, Kirtan is beneficial because you are engaged in an activity that distracts you from thinking.  This is particularly beneficial if you are caught in a spiral of negative thinking and would like to use meditation to alleviate the ruminative process.  When you stop flooding your brain with fear ad worry about the future or resentments from the past, this has profoundly positive effect of resetting your emotional state to calm and peaceful.  People who practice Kirtan had a higher leaving of spiritual benefit, with an enhanced feeling or bliss and are more emotionally open and connected to others.
